I Spent Friday Night With THE Mr. Levine

My brother-in-law gave my sister Maroon 5 tickets for her birthday and of course she asked me to go with her (as if she had any other choice).  This past weekend was the concert and to say it was great would be the understatement of the century.

I don't know who people were more excited to see, Adam Levine or Maroon 5.  What's great about this show is obviously the music but then you get hit twice with awesomeness of the eye candy that is Adam.  God really hit the mark when he created him.  I mean, let's just be honest.

During their encore, Mr. Levine was literally 20 feet away from us.  When this happened, it's like every single woman around us turned into a 15 year old, Justin Beiber fan.  I mean my inner 15 year for sure came out and there might have been a high pitch scream to go along with it.  Just, maybe though.

Maroon 5 brought along Neon Trees and Owl City (Owl who?!).  Neon Trees were surprisingly great...their lead singer has a pretty amazing voice.  I didn't know that I would love their music that much.  We missed Owl City and were so devastated (said no one ever).

Random note: I share the same last name as Mr. Levine and jokingly, I put on Facebook that I married the wrong Levine.  I knew that someone in my husband's family would take that literally and not as a joke and sure enough they did.  I live most of my life through sarcasm and if you can't dig it well then I can't dig you.

Quinn and I spent Saturday hitching a ride with my mom and sister as they did a bit of shopping.  I figure, I could use the help and get my grocery shopping done at the same time.

Sunday was lazily spent coping with a headache (non-alcohol related), napping and sorting through sports cards.

How was your weekend?

The Music That Gets Me Going

I have to listen to music every single time I run.

My IPod died about 2 weeks ago on a run and the sounds that I heard come out of me were the most god awful and disgusting sounds.

I really don't need to hear the sound of death by running, I can already feel it.

So here is a sample of pump me up songs I have on my running playlist entitled, "Run Fat Girl Run" that get me through each and every run.

Beyonce - Countdown
David Guetta ft. Nicki Minaj - Turn Me On
Flo Rida - Turn Around (5,4,3,2,1)
Britney Spears - Toxic
Big Sean - Dance (Ass)
Black Eyed Peas - Showndown
Beyonce - Love On Top
Nicki Minaj - Super Bass
Timbaland - Pass At Me
The Pretty Reckless - Makes Me Wanna Die
Beyonce ft Andre 3000 - We Likes To Party
Freesol ft JT & Timbaland - Fascinated
Gym Class Heroes - Ass Back Home
Jessie J - Domino
Kanye West & Rihanna - All The Lights
Jessie and The Toy Boys - Push It
Jay-Z and Kanye - Niggas In Paris
Kelly Rowland - Lay It On Me
Lady Gaga - Poker Face
Luke Bryan - Country Girl/Shake It For Me
The Noisettes - Sister Rosetta
Rihanna - S&M
Petey Pablo - Show Me The Money
Trick Daddy - Shut Up
Trina - Million Dollar Girl
Waka Flocka - No Hands
Wilson Philips - Hold On
Kreayshawn - Gucci Gucci

I definitely need to add a little classic rock to the mix.

Shake your money maker.

What are you running to?

Throwin' It Back Thursday {vol. 5}

I haven't done this in awhile and thought you all could use a little tuneage in your life today.

Lord knows that I do.

Throw back:
Rosa Parks by Outkast
Rosa Parks anybody?

Current:
Not Over You by Gavin Degraw
I remember first hearing him back in my freshman year of college when his song "I Don't Wanna" was the theme song to One Tree Hill (I don't watch this show anymore since I missed so much in the past couple of years so I don't even know if it's still the theme song).  One of my favorites of his is "Chariot" but his newest song has a good vibe.

Enjoy.

And, hey?  Tomorrow's Friday.  Just thought I would remind you all in case you all forgot.

10 Day YOU Challenge {Songs}

Two songs:

{one}
Carried Away by George Strait
Hubby and my wedding song.

{two}
Pumped Up Kicks - Foster The People
Feel good song of now.

I also like Helena Beat by this group.

What are you favorites?

Throwin' It Back Thursday vol. 2

This Thursday sucks big balls!  I was of course late to work or later than I wanted to get here which in turn only prolongs the hour in which I get to leave this lovely place (but what's new!?).  Had what felt like hours and hours on end of calls and took a late lunch.  While on my way back from lunch, I got stuck by the freaking train downtown.  When this happens, you basically have two choices: walk 82 blocks out the way or wait.  I waited (for the second day in a row) and froze my toes off.  I know, poor me...

Ducking trains....

After work brings grocery shopping and working out.  Seriously, this day can suck it.  I want my sweatpants, NOW!

Did I mention that my parents are currently in Mexico??  Taking in the beautiful weather, drinks and anything else Mexico has to offer (which is a hell of a lot more than Iowa can muster up right now).  They do deserve it.  How they've managed to care for 5 kids and go so long without taking a real, relaxing vacation is crazy to me.  If you ever meet any of my brothers and sister you would completely understand (HA! I hope you all are reading).  Sometimes I feel as though my family life resembles that of Chelsea Handler only my dad isn't completely crazy. But yes, Sloane is my sister.

I need a drink.

Ok, enough getting off subject (stop distracting me!).  There is a real reason you're taking the time to read this...

What can turn a sucky day into something semi-fantastic?? Music.

Music puts people in better moods unless it's Kesha (oh, sorry I forgot the $ sign).  How this garbage sack wearing hobo chick ever got a record deal is beyond me.  Apparently whoever signed this thing is tone deaf.  She should've stopped at Tik Tok (or maybe not even made that either)....I would have personally thanked her.  Of course, my sister loves her.  End of rant.

On to the goods....
Who doesn't love a little Bob Marley?!

The following song makes me feel better about my day.  It's a perfect rainy day song.
